Chess: Pirc Defense (Austrian Attack)

1 e4 d6 2 d4 Nf6 3 Nc3 g6 4 f4 Bg7 5 Nf3 O-O
6 Bd3 Nc6 7 e5 dxe5 8 fxe5 Line

Position after 8 fxe5.

What's the Basic Strategy for Black?

* Weaken White's center through
... c7-c5 or ... f6-f7

* ... f6-f7 is often spoiled by e5xf6:
If Black retakes on f6 with a piece,
the e7 pawn remains backward.
Alternatively, if he plays ... e7xf6,
the important g7 bishop is shut in.

* Please note, while 7 ... dxe5 makes
d5 open for the attacked f6 knight,
it doesn't address the problem of
taming the d4/e5 and f4-e5 pawn
chains.
